Plaques, house numbers and one-off gifts
Small carved pieces. A house number that can actually be read from the street, an award that is not another lump of acrylic from a catalogue.

We cut these on the CNC router at Salamander Bay, one at a time, with the wording you give us.

What people order
- House numbers — number on its own, or number and street name, in hardwood or painted pine
- Property and family name signs — for a gate, a letterbox or the front of the house
- Award and presentation plaques — clubs, sporting groups, life memberships
- Retirement and long-service pieces — usually with a name, dates and a logo
- Wedding and anniversary boards — names, a date, sometimes a map or a place
- Christening and new-baby boards — name, date, weight
- Bar, shed and man-cave signs — the ones bought as presents
- Market and stall stock — repeat runs of the same design, priced by quantity

Read from the street
A house number is a practical thing. If an ambulance cannot find you at night, the sign has failed.
That means the numbers need to be big enough and to have contrast — carved and paint-filled, or carved into a timber that is a different colour underneath. A number cut into raw timber and left natural looks lovely on the bench and disappears from twenty metres away in the rain. We will say so when you order it.
Yes to both. We paint-fill carved numbers and lettering so they read from the street, and plaques come with fixings or a keyhole on the back. Or take it raw and finish it yourself — your choice.
Gifts and one-offs
One is fine. There is no minimum here. Plenty of these start as somebody ringing up two weeks before a birthday with a photo of something they saw online.
Send whatever you have — a photo, a hand-drawn layout, a logo, or just the words. It gets laid out in Fusion 360 here and you see it before it is cut. Change the layout as many times as you like on screen. It costs nothing until the cutter goes down.
Timber and materials
Hardwood for anything going outside or meant to last. Pine and ply for painted work and lower-cost pieces. Acrylic where you want colour or a modern look. Aluminium where it has to live outdoors permanently and never be touched again.
Allow two weeks for a one-off piece. If you need it sooner, ask — we will tell you straight whether it can be done.

Bigger signs are covered on carved signs and lettering. If you want an animal or artwork carved into the piece, see 3D relief panels and carvings. Everything the router does is on the CNC routing hub.
Type out the wording exactly as you want it. Send that, tell us the timber and roughly how big, and we will lay it out and send it back for you to check before anything is cut. Ring 0478 790 631 · Mon–Fri · 12 George Road, Salamander Bay. Or use the quote form.
