Machining and boat metalwork for Corlette

Corlette is about five minutes from our roller door — near enough that a lot of Corlette work turns up as somebody dropping a part in on the way past.

It’s a waterfront suburb with a lot of boats per household and a lot of water access. Sandy Point, the foreshore and the small craft moorings mean plenty of tinnies, runabouts and half-cabins that live on trailers in driveways rather than in a marina.

What that means for the work

Trailer-boat suburbs generate trailer-boat problems, and the number one problem is the trailer, not the boat.

Trailers. Rusted-out cross members, winch posts that have let go, worn rollers and skids, and drawbar extensions so you’re not backing the hubs under at a shallow ramp. Around here that’s the most common job we see.

Aluminium hulls. Cracks at the chine and rib ends, transom repairs, corrosion around fittings. Send a photo before you write the boat off — a lot of them are worth fixing.

Stainless. Bow rails, grab rails, bait boards, ladders, custom brackets in 316.

Not just boats

Corlette is mostly residential, and residential work is real work. Gate and fence hardware, brackets that need to be made rather than bought, a part for a ride-on that’s no longer supported, a bracket for a solar or water setup, a replacement for something obsolete on a caravan. If it’s metal and you can’t buy it any more, we can usually make it.

The drop-in advantage

Being five minutes away changes how the job goes. You can bring the part in, we can look at it together, and you’re not making decisions off a photo and a phone call. Take advantage of it.

Drop it in on the way past. 12 George Road, Salamander Bay. Mon–Fri. Or ring 0478 790 631 and send a photo first.
