Machining and engineering for Raymond Terrace

Raymond Terrace is about 40 minutes from us and it’s a commercial and industrial town rather than a waterfront one — the service centre for the whole lower Hunter end of Port Stephens, sitting where the Hunter and Williams rivers meet.

Business and breakdown work

Most of what comes to us from Raymond Terrace is business, not hobby.

Breakdown parts. A machine is down, the part is obsolete or is three weeks away, and every day it’s down costs money. Bring us the broken one. We measure it, model it and machine it — no drawings needed.

Production and repeat parts. If you need fifty of something rather than one, CNC is exactly the right tool. Send a drawing or a DXF and a quantity and we’ll price it.

Shafts, bushes and pins. Worn shafts re-sleeved or replaced, bushes turned to size, keyways cut, custom pins and spacers. 4140 heat-treated where it has to take load, tool steel where it has to resist wear.

Sheet metal and fabrication. Cut and fold through a partner facility with a guillotine and CNC press brake, and welding through the welders we work with. You deal with us — we manage the rest of it.

River work

There’s boating and river frontage along the Hunter and Williams. Trailer repairs, aluminium hull work and stainless fittings apply here too — see the marine pages.

Why bother coming to Port Stephens

Fair question, because there’s engineering closer to Newcastle. Two reasons:

Our machines run lights-out overnight, so work keeps going after hours and lead times are usually shorter than people expect.

And we’re small — Todd and one machinist. You talk to the person doing the job. If we can’t do it, or can’t do it in your timeframe, you’ll get told that on the phone instead of after a week of silence.

Send the drawing, the DXF, or a photo of the broken part. Ring 0478 790 631 · Mon–Fri · 12 George Road, Salamander Bay.
